Basic Black is a true study in mosaics using small square and rectangular paper pieces to create a design. As the layering of the pieces started paint was added and the design started to take shape. I choose the simplicity of a black and white theme so that the layering and texture did not get lost. Thick layers of paint are hand applied to create movement and texture. Because it is hand painted, no two pieces of art will be exactly the same. The gallery wrapped canvas is set into a floating silver leaf wood frame. Wall Art
